Mike Decossas‎ to SELCOM
We are Happy to announce that we have upgraded our repeater platform to include Analogue FM, DMR, C4FM FCS and D-Star. We have upgraded the 146.775 and 444.825 repeaters. These are wide area coverage and should provide both analogue and digital coverage throughout the New Orleans Metro Area. A big Thank you to all the members of JARC, Ozone ARC and our SELCOM membership. We would not have been successful without their help! We will update our web page over the next few days with detailed connection information. Stay tuned. In the next few weeks we will be having a class on DMR radio and its uses

Ham Radio Swamp Swap / FOR SALE: HEATH CANTENNA DUMMY LOAD
« Last post by WA5PRI on June 17, 2018, 08:06:40 pm »
FOR SALE: HEATHKIT CANTENNA DUMMY LOAD.  PRICE $50.  CONTACT DON WA5PRI 985 447 3711 or donald.bardwell@nicholls.edu .  If you have memories of "good ole days" and would like to own something with the Heathkit label, here is and inexpensive way to do that.  I have had the oil-filled cantenna for a long time and stopped using it when I started to get bad loads.  Recently I cleaned the contacts and "voila" it is working.  Running 900 watts 160 through 10 meters it shows an swr of almost 1 to 1.  On 6 meters the swr is slightly higher.  Memories!!!!

General Topic Forum / Re: New DMR digital repeater in Laplace
« Last post by WB0LNS on June 08, 2018, 07:00:53 pm »

For me, at least this is great news!  Currently I have a TYT  MD-380 and will enjoy using both.  I have been contemplating a radio for the house as well as the vehicle that will do FM/DMR.

Where can I get a codeplug for each one?  5W for the time being may make the one in Lockport useable but hopefully soon with 50W at the house.......

Thanks, Mike WB0LNS

Ham Radio Swamp Swap / Wanted = Rotor in good condition
« Last post by WB0LNS on June 08, 2018, 11:38:37 am »

I am looking for a used rotor and control box in good condition.  If the cable is not with it that's no problem.  Prefer with the owner's manual.  Not going to have large antennas so I do not need a rotor that can take huge wind loads.

Contact me at: 314-799-7388 or mbren1@sbcglobal.net

Thanks!

Not sure on this machine but many are modified by tightening the bandwidth on the radio and a few other mods. We  have a DMR in Lockport, albet its at 40 feet or so currently. There are plans for others as radios are cheap compared to other digital modes.
